Orkut is a social networking site owned by Google. It had been launched on January 24th, 2004. This service is for making new friends and maintaining old relationships. Orkut is less popular than facebook in U.S. but more popular than Facebook in Indian and Brazil.
It is originally hosted in California in August, 2008 but its headquarter is in Brazil in Belo Horizont because there was a large fan male of Orkut.According to alexa ranking it is the 65th most famous site of the world. Currently it has more than 100 million users world wide.
